My Husband & I are due to return to MS soon from England and want to build/have built our own home but want to incorprate energy saving aspects to our home. Where can we get advise about what is avaiable and recommended for our needs

Hi Julie, I would recommend filling out the form above with solar project details, or at least what you have at this point, and getting a pro to all and answer your questions. Solar expertise is pretty localized by state, so a salesperson in MS is going to be best equipped to answer your questions. In the meantime, check out the rebates and subsidies available in MS at http://www.solarpowerrocks.com/mississippi/

Hey Dan, I was just about to ask the same question as Andrew. Could hook me up with the same Chicago based installer for more information as well?

Comment on May 27th, 2008.

Sat and William (and anyone else looking for training info),

The info from the Chicago area installer was pretty simple. Get NABCEP certification, train with experienced installation crews, and apply for jobs. However, please also check out The Interstate Renewable Energy Council for further training and workforce development initiatives. They are an excellent resource.

Hi,
I’m a GA non restricted electrical contractor and am looking at getting into selling and installing residential/commercial photovoltaic systems. I have been doing a good bit of online research and would like to know which one of the many PV installation training programs you readers would recommend. Here are some of the providers I located:

1)North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners
2)North Carolina Solar Center
3)Florida Solar Energy Center
4)Solar Energy International
5)Solairgen, Inc.
6)Sharp Solar Systems

Prices were generally $500 - $ 1,000 and class-time w/hands-on varied from 2 - 10 days. If anybody knows of another one, or can vouch for one of these, your help would be greatly appreciated.

I had solar power growing up in the 70’s and therefore, know that it is a viable option here. We want to teach our children that solar power is clean and plentiful. The best way is to have it fuel our personal energy needs.
thanks.

How do I get information that I can provide to / lobby my local government so they can consider ‘going solar’? This renewable energy source would be a great advantage over other suburbs!!

I would like to know who is on the list for Delaware. I am not real comfortable being contacted by companies I am not aware of. Is there any way to get this information prior to giving all of mine?
Thank a bunch.

I am wanting to open a solar and wind installation company in NE Missouri. Is there a way for me to receive the necessary training. I already have an LLC and I have extensive experience in technical fields and have two partners with excellent general contractor abilities. Is there someone whom I can contact to get started? I believe this is the only way to true power independence. Thanks

I am interested in installing solar systems in residential locations. We are general contractors with all the necessary credentials. It is our understanding that specific state licenses for solar installation are not needed. Is that true. I look forward to your response.
