A patriotic solar home in San Diego

Attention, San Diegans with current or past military service:

Palomar Solar, a San Diego solar company in operation since 2009, is offering an amazing Sweepstakes drawing for a free home solar system, designed to offset up to 95% of your family’s energy needs!

The details

The sweepstakes is available to residents of San Diego county. The system will be roof-mounted with a size of up to 7-kW. The final design depends on the size of your roof, your energy needs, and your main electric panel’s ability to handle the voltage.

To give you an idea of what you’re getting, a typical 7-kW system in San Diego would cost around $25,000 up front, before the federal tax credits. Keep in mind, this is a big prize, and you will likely be responsible for taxes and other fees that could arise.

Still, a 7-kW system will make about 11,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. That’s enough to save the winning family about $2,200 per year, every year for the next three decades. Talk about a Grand Prize!

How to enter

Entries can be submitted between August 11th and September 12th, 2017, online through Palomar Solar’s Sweepstakes page, or mailed to:
