The Solar Foundation released its census of solar jobs last week. We posted the most telling graphic below. As you can see, most solar jobs are in California, though states with strong renewable portfolio standards are strong employers too:

    It seems to me that it would make more sense for traditional energy providers (gas and electric companies) to “go green (solar, etc.)” and pass the savings on to consumers, than for each individual consumer to have to do so. Since this is not happening, it must be because the traditional energy providers, who are powerful lobbies) do not want to lose their source of huge profits. It would most likely take a Federal mandate to force these traditional energy providers to “go green.”
